Lead-Lens is a business-card scanner for iPhone and iPad. This page covers the most common questions. If yours isn't here, email hello@lead-lens.app and a real human will reply, usually within a day.

Getting started

How do I scan my first card?

Open Lead-Lens, tap the floating glass camera button on the Home tab, and point it at any business card. The scanned card is added to the list.

How do I import a card from a photo I already have?

Tap the + button in the toolbar → “Import from Photos” → pick the image. Lead-Lens reads it in the background.

Does it work offline?

Yes — every core feature (scanning, search, sharing, saving to iOS Contacts) works without an internet connection. The optional Microsoft 365 / Dynamics 365 export needs a connection at the moment you tap export.

Editing & organising

How do I change a category, add a tag, or write a note?

Tap the card in the list, then tap Edit in the top-right.

How do I make my own custom category?

Settings → Categories → “+ New Category”.

How do I delete a card?

Swipe left on the card and tap “Delete”. Or open the card and tap the trash icon in the toolbar.

How do I export everything?

Settings → Export → choose CSV or vCard. The file is shared via the standard iOS share sheet.

Microsoft 365 / Dynamics 365

What does “Connect to Microsoft 365” do?

It lets you push a scanned card into your Outlook contacts with one tap. Lead-Lens uses the standard Microsoft sign-in flow (OAuth 2.0 with PKCE) — your password is typed into Microsoft's own page, never into Lead-Lens.

Why does my Dynamics 365 sign-in say “Need admin approval”?

Dynamics requires a tenant administrator to approve the app's user_impersonation permission once per organisation. Forward the message to your IT admin; once they approve, every user in your tenant can connect without further prompts. (This is a Microsoft policy, not a Lead-Lens limitation.)

How do I sign out / disconnect?

Settings → Connections → tap the connected service → “Disconnect”. This removes the OAuth token from your device's Keychain immediately.

Privacy

Where are my cards stored?

Only on your iPhone or iPad, in the app's encrypted SwiftData container. Lead-Lens has no server.

Do you sell my data?

No. We can't — we don't have it. See the full Privacy Policy for the complete data inventory.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → “Erase all data” wipes every card and disconnects every integration. Uninstalling the app does the same.

Languages & accessibility

How do I switch to Arabic?

Settings → App Language → العربية. The whole UI re-lays itself right-to-left.

Does it support VoiceOver / Dynamic Type?

Yes — every screen scales up to the largest accessibility text size and every interactive element has a VoiceOver label.
